![]() ![]() They've been kinda significantly behind the curve when it comes to tank combat for decades. Oh and I just want to mention the absolutely sickening ammo placement all over british tanks. Their most built tank in WWII was the valentine, looking at more modern tanks they're stuck in the past still using two piece ammo and a rifled gun while moving slower than everyone else and having weaker protection frontally while also being the absolute heaviest current MBT when loaded up for combat (around 75 tons combat weight if I remember correctly). Things like the Firefly would singe off the crew's eyebrows upon being fired and removes the stabilizer, machine gunner, and more along with ripping out the back of the turret just to put a gun in it ever so slightly better than the american 76mm.
